2016 Sisters in Crime Sweepstakes
Friday, March 25, 2016
At the Friends of the Library author luncheon last month, the Bonita Springs Public Library was presented with a check for $1,000 from the Sisters in Crime “We Love Libraries” program. The award money is designated for purchasing books for the library. Friends of Bonita Springs Library President Helena Nesbit submitted the prize-winning entry for the December 2015 sweepstakes. Author Wendy Dingwall, from the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Sisters in Crime, presented the check Thursday, Feb. 25, to Senior Librarian Maureen Pollock. Dingwall is the author of Celtic Curse: An Yvonne Suarez Travel Mystery, a cold-case mystery (set in Peebles, Scotland) about character Yvonne's hunt for clues that led to the disappearance her friend's brother. Dingwall started the local chapter of Sisters in Crime ? a global organization that provides a network of support for mystery writers. Worldwide, there are 50 chapters whose members include authors, booksellers, librarians, publishers and readers of the mystery genre.
